Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST)
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle and non invasive therapy. Its origins stem from the work of Osteopath Dr William SutherLand DO, who discovered the inherent nature of movement of the fluids within the spinal column, around the brain, and the effect of this on the membranes, tissues and structures of the body.

The intention behind craniosacral work is very much about supporting the inherent health within the body. This ‘health’ is always present but may be overwhelmed by events that impact on us. This can include such things as car accidents, the use of forceps or ventouse during birth, even emotional issues affect us.

The way we deal with, and accommodate, overwhelming and traumatic situations can distort the natural way different parts of the body subtly move. Craniosacral therapy supports these parts to settle back to their innate balanced state: As this occurs the client moves more towards their natural healthy state.

Light touch is used in this work by the practitioner to perceive the underlying subtle movements and support healing: This very gentle way of working is therefore ideal for working with babies and children.

For a list of some of the conditions that craniosacral therapy has successfully worked with go to the Craniosacral Therapy Association’s (CSTA) web page,  What is Craniosacral Therapy. These links to different pages in that web site may also be of interest:
