Infant Centred Family Work (ICFW) is based on the work of Dr Ray Castellino, DC RPP of the BEBA clinic in California, who states that
Optimal development occurs with the timely
resolution of early trauma and the resulting
secure attachment between parents and children.
ICFW comes from the understanding that babies and children ‘know’. It utilises some of the best body based therapies, including Craniosacral, in combination with prenatal and birth psychology.
This work supports parents and primary carers in understanding what their child is expressing naturally through body language, emotions and play.
ICFW helps resolve past traumatic imprints that have created such symptoms as difficulties with breast feeding, colic, excessive crying, and sleep issues.
The nervous system feels more settled, integrated and balanced. There is more opportunity for deeper loving connections with family, and increased attachment and bonding.
David has found this work especially useful for special needs babies and children.

The list is based on the work both in David’s experience and from the BEBA clinic.
Some of the reasons you may wish
to come for this work.
Couples and single parents who want to enhance their parenting skills
Parents who want help bonding with their adopted babies and children
Prenatal parents concerned that their own early experiences might interfere with their ability to bond with their babies and children
Parents seeking support to face acute conditions with their babies and children including surgery, hospitalisation, parental death and sexual abuse
Families who have experienced prematurity, low birth weight, early medical problems, hospitalisation, or other difficulties during pregnancy or birth
Parents who feel unduly frustrated or depressed about their family situation, are concerned about sibling rivalry or are unable to communicate satisfactorily with their children
Parents concerned about their infants who cry without apparent cause, have difficulty sleeping, have breastfeeding challenges, are unable to make eye contact, or who seem listless or slow to develop physical strength
Families concerned about their toddlers or children who throw frequent tantrums, exhibit poor coordination and balance, are overly aggressive toward other children, isolate themselves, have difficulty focusing their attention or are hyperactive

Our intention for coming for a family session was to develop our relationships within
the family and thus deepen the loving bond we have between us.
We had little idea of what a family session looked like, or what might be expected
of us, so we began the session with some trepidation.
Each of us had our ideas of what we wanted from the session. David initiated a very
gentle process of negotiation and clarification that supported us as a family to
come onto the same page with an intention.
Given that we all had limited knowledge of this approach to family therapy, the session
had a natural flow and progression. David provided a quiet, guiding presence that
allowed us to be ourselves, feel safe and not judged. It was great!
I would strongly recommend this as not only a process or therapy to negotiate a tough
spot in family life, but as a family health check.
It has, without question had an enormous positive impact on each of us, and in the
way that we relate to each other. Thank you David.
